Well, shit. It’s been a while but life has been busy so that’s that.
Went to visit gramps in LA. He’s all good. Went to visit my mom’s family in San Diego. I love this city. So chill and the people are great. Work – I don’t even know where to start. Let’s just say hard work and good deeds go a long way so all you little turds reading this who whine and bitch about your job, take it from me – work hard and don’t be a little bitch.
Los Angeles – August 2014 Edition
Sorry, slowguy. No doges allowed. @ Intelligentsia Venice
Brazillian place down the street from my cousin’s place in Venice. Not bad!
Anaheim Packing District. Some straight hipster shit in here.
LA/OC’s got the hate for pets, I see.
Pop Bar. Get the popsicle itself. Maybe not. Shit is expensive but this blood orange popsicle was awesome. The toppings ruin it.
Badmaash in Los Angeles. Some of THE BEST Indian food I’ve had. Owner/executive chef is Canadian (from Toronto) and his nephews help him run the place. Straight up kick ass food and amazing service.
Home sweet home
Spotted @ Sprouts Market. This is by far the worst branding ever. Did they create this out of Mspaint.exe? It’s worse than hipster! Whenever Bars? Really?! Good grief.
75KM ride from Mar Vista to Palos Verdes Estates, back up to Venice and into Santa Monica. Man, this ride sucked. So windy, not enough food and water. Taken @ Manhattan Beach
Palos Verdes Estates (Oh, and the Guru is now back home.)
My usual stop @ Deus Ex Machina
MexiCali Tacos in Chinatown, Los Angeles. Best nachos ever. Tacos weren’t bad. Pictured – Tacos (Asada, Chorizo, Pollo) / Vampiro / Gueros (Cantonese-Baja style pappers – this shit is hot.)
Dessert @ Ramekin, Los Angeles. Pass. Do not go. Parking sucks. Not that great.
Deus Ex Machina – with my cousin Nancy whom I will see for the last time before her wedding in December.
I was reading the August issue of Air Canada’s “enRoute” magazine and came across this little tid bit by Philip Preville. I’m with him on this one – ditch the travel guides; walk the streets.
Okay, so back to Vancouver. Did an 87KM ride with Eddie. East Van to Silvercity Riverport, Steveston Village, Iona Beach, and back home. Man, we were doing so well until the winds at Iona destroyed us. We both needed to stop for a Coca Cola and luckily there was a Chevron at Cambie and W. 59th, otherwise, I would have bonked. Thank goodness. That was a good, but tough ride.
The girl to the right was pretty darn cute.
